I was born in Mexico City, and got my
B.Sc. degree in Physics at Universidad
Nacional Autónoma de México. In 1997 I moved to Texas, to pursue a PhD degree in Physics at The
University of Texas at Austin.
During my PhD, I had the pleasure to work in the Atom
Optics Laboratory, under the supervision of Mark Raizen.
The focus of my dissertation was the experimental study of quantum transport of
cold atoms in optical lattices, using laser-cooled atoms having temperatures
ranging from a few hundred microkelvin
to the quantum degenerate regime (Bose-Einstein condensation).
Since
February, 2005 I’m a postdoc in the group of Steven
Block, at Stanford
University.
