Gravitational wave theory/experiment The direct detection of gravitational waves on Earth and in space will open a new window on the Universe. It will also tell us if Einstein's general relativity is indeed the correct theory of gravity. I will present my own perspective on the challenges and rewards of a newly-born, exciting research field: gravitational wave astronomy.
