Linux mplayer Information
You may be able play these QuickTime movies on Linux using the mplayer
application. For Red Hat Linux users, I suggest using the Dag Wieers
(aka DAG) RPM files available from
http://dag.wieers.com/apt/.
These movies have been tested on Centos 3.x (RHEL 3.x clone) using:
- mplayer-1.0-0.20.pre7.1.el3.rf.i386.rpm
- mplayerplug-in-3.31-1.el3.rf.i386.rpm
- mplayer-docs-1.0-0.20.pre7.1.el3.rf.i386.rpm
- mplayer-fonts-1.1-2.0.rf.noarch.rpm
- mencoder-1.0-0.20.pre7.1.el3.rf.i386.rpm
- libavc1394-0.4.1-2.rhel3.dag.i386.rpm
- libpostproc-1.0-0.17.pre7.1.el3.rf.i386.rpm
- libdv-0.102-3.1.el3.dag.i386.rpm
- aalib-1.4.0-5.1.el3.dag.i386.rpm
- lirc-0.6.6-4.rhel3.dag.i686.rpm
- libdvdread-0.9.7-1.el3.rf.i386.rpm
- libmad-0.15.1b-4.el3.rf.i386.rpm
- lzo-1.08-4.1.el3.rf.i386.rpm
- libdvdcss-1.2.9-2.el3.rf.i386.rpm
- divx4linux-5.0.5-0.dag.rhel3.i386.rpm
- lame-3.97-1.el3.rf.i386.rpm
- xvidcore-1.1.2-1.el3.rf.i386.rpm
We've had great success at downloading and playing the movies with
the above software, but less success with the streaming options.
Some people report success with the Video Lan Client player also, though we've not tested it.
