Getting Around Town
The
Capital Metro bus system
provides service to many areas around town; please
visit their site for schedules,
maps, and pricing information.
Taxis are also a good way to get around town if you choose to go
places during your stay; in Austin, call 452-9999 to arrange a ride.
If you are staying at the Extended Stay, there is a city bus stop nearby
for two routes (bus
#5
and bus
#171)
that can take you to campus in about 15 minutes; the bus frequencies
change depending on the time of day, so you should check Capital Metro’s
site for your planned travel time to determine the best bus and travel
times. You can use their online trip planner at:
http://www.capmetro.org/planner/
(For the starting point, use
600 GUADALUPE ST; and for the
destination, use
2511 SPEEDWAY.)
From the Airport
For visitors arriving by air at the Austin-Bergstrom International
Airport, taxis are available at all hours outside the luggage claim
area. The hotel addresses are:
Extended Stay Hotel, 600 Guadalupe St.
AT&T Conference Center, 1900 University Avenue
