Useful software downloads

Here are some useful software packages available for download. If you have any suggestions for additions to this list, feel free to send us an email.

HFNetChk
Platform: Windows NT, 2000

HFNetChk is a useful utility that will check your Windows NT or Windows 2000 system configuration and notify you of any available system updates or patches that need to be installed. HFNetChk will check the system itself as well as common services such as Exchange, IIS, and Microsoft SQL. It can also check multiple machines over the network.

NiftyTelnet SSH

A free SSH1 client for the Macintosh. Also supports SCP. (Note that MacOS X includes SSH1 and SSH2 in the base system.) This program is also available on the UT Connect 3.0 CD.

SSH for Windows
Platform: Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP

The "official" SSH client for Windows, available at no cost to academic users. Supports SSH1 and SSH2. This program is also included on the UT Connect 3.0 CD.

SecureCRT
Platform: Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP

A very good commercial SSH client for Windows. Supports SSH1 and SSH2, and includes an SCP client as well. Academic pricing is available.
