Re: Are you interested in using CPS in your class in Spring04?

Dear Colleague,

The Classroom Performance System (CPS), is one of the wireless interactive systems available, which has the potential to promote interactive teaching in large classrooms and has the benefit of promoting class attendance/participation through electronic records. Presently there are over 10 CNS-multi-media classrooms equipped with such systems, maintained by CNS Dean's office.  The College of Engineering and College of Library Arts have begun pilot-use of the system. UT Center of Instructional Technology and Center of Teaching Effectiveness under the Division of Instructional Innovation and Assessment(DIIA)  have also been involved in helping to implement the use of the system on our campus.

I am the faculty coordinator of our UT-CPS-support project. Our goal is to promote excellence in undergraduate teaching on our campus, especially in large classrooms, through the use of such wireless interactive system.

We invite you to visit our homepage at http://www.ph.utexas.edu/~ctalk.

Those who are interested in using the system in the Spring04 semester, please go to Sec. I.2, to signup using the system in spring04.

Thank you for your attention.

Sincerely yours,

Charles Chiu
