What if I forget the password to my account at eInstruction?
- Email eInstruction tech
support directly at techsupp@einstruction.com. (See Sec. I.5, for more
information on technical support.).
Remote related problems:
What if I cannot enroll my response pad on the eInstruction website?
The most common problem is that students misread the serial number printed in
small black letters on the back of the blue response pad. The serial number
can be somewhat hard to read. Try to read it carefully and be sure you are
typing it in correctly. An "8" can sometimes look like a "B," etc., so you
may have to look closely to see which one it is.
What if my response does not show up at the response board?
- Check battery: Click the remote. There
should be a flash. You should proceed to replace the battery on your own,
if needed.
- Make sure you entered the
correct serial number: The serial number you entered when you registered
the remote pad on the eInstruction website must match the one printed in small
black letters on the back of the remote pad. The serial number can be hard to
read, so be sure you are reading it correctly.
- Test whether the remote
outputs a correct serial number: Visit the ITS helpdesk, or our office hour. Sec.
Sec I.5 for more information in technical support.
- If serial number is OK
and still has no response at response board:
- Go to your eInstruction
account check to verify that the output serial number agrees with the
serial number in your account.
- Make sure your
instructor has updated the cps-roster in class.
Your remote should work now. If you still have
difficulty please contact eInstruction techical support, or visit us during
UT-cps-support office hour. (Sec. Sec I.5 for contact information.)
What if the remote does not output a correct serial
number? The remote is defective. Please follow the steps below.
- Exchange a new one from
Coop. Student needs to exchange the defective one from Coop (free exchange
at calculator/software department).
- Update eInstruction
roster for your class: Student logs in at eInstruction students own
account, click class administration, change the serial number to the new
one.
- Make sure instructor/TA
updatess the cps-roster at the lectern computer.
Inclass record:
- Where can I check my attendance/participation
record?
Please go to Sec. II.1. Click on the line: record
for whole class.
- Where can I check my
ongoing daily performance record?
Please go to Sec. II.1. Click on
the line: record for individual students. Follow the instruction to view your
password protected record.
eInstruction Registration:
- When
I signed up to enroll in a class, I entered the
class key and the
serial number on my remote. I am quite
positive that the serial number I
entered was 018C8, which IS the correct serial
number. However, after I
clicked “Purchase Access” and went
through the entire
enrolling process (payment, setting up
username/password, etc), I clicked
on “student admin” and found that
my serial was listed as
1018C8; it had a “1” added to the
front. Is this supposed to
happen, or should I remove the “1”?
The "1" is added by
eInstruction. Please do NOT mofidy it. You have
successffuly enrolled in cps!
