Summary
Di Xiao is a graduate student in the Department of Physics at The University of Texas at Austin. He received a Bachelor degree in Physics from Peking University (China) in June 2001, and is now pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Physics, advised by Dr. Qian Niu.
Di's general research interests lie in the field of theoretical condensed mater physics. In particular, he has been working on the following topics:
- Geometric phase effect on electron dynamics;
- Charge and spin transport in magnetic materials and nanostructures.
Besides physics, Di is a casual soccer player and an avid Macintosh user.
Di married Yuan in the winter of 2001 at Austin. His sister Mandy lives in Guangzhou, China.
