Selected problems related to HW11

• Climbing up a leaning ladder.
• Two identical rigid bodies except for the difference in one connection.
• Static problems involve spheres.

Review unit #3-1: Advice on review for an exam

• HW8:

o Center of mass: Effective one-body with mass: m=Sm_i, x_cm, v_cm and a_cm.

o F^net=dp_cm/dt=0 è Conservation of momentum. pⁱ_cm=p^f_cm=constant.

o Determination of cm of geometric objects.

o Examples, for each case the x_cm is fixed during the internal motions.

HW9: Problems with 3 types of collisions, 1d and 2d collisions.

o Inelastic

o Perfectly inelastic: v_f=v_cm.

o 1d-headon elastic: v_i’=2v_cm-v_i

o 2d-collisions.
