Lecture: 16   Chapter 4 (iq13)

1. Qualitative description: Motion along a curve

o   Small equal spacing kicks.

o   Fix the speed increasing F.

o   Fix F increasing v

2. Kissing circle: Force at A.   pdp_hat/dt  =Fnet  

o   To the left.

o   Directed toward the center.

o   In general F|| changes the speed not the direction.

          3. Cause and effect

o   Keep v fixed, a big F generates a small R circle

o   A big p  requires a big F to keep R fixed.

4. Fseat in the plane at A and at B.

5. Circular pendulum.
