My poor li'l car...

And the f'n jerk drove away... didn't even stop to see if I was okay. 
Don't worry, though, only minor damage to my person.  Actually, really nothing wrong with me...  luckily!

So, here's what happened... 
Friday (3/11/2005) I was driving north on Guadalupe.  Some jerk totally ran the red light at 38th St (heading east) and T-boned me. 
I want to clarify that my light had been green for a while--meaning I was just cruising down Guad, and was pretty much the only car heading north at that point. 
There was a line of cars waiting to turn Left onto 38th which is why I didn't see him coming. 
Anyway, he plowed into me, I spun about 270degrees and he drove off. 

At this point, I want to tell you how many nice people there are in Austin. 
So many people stopped to make sure I was ok, and a bunch had gotten partial license plates, so we could piece it together. 
And, all the workers in the jiffy lube on the corner came out and they were the ones who called 911 for me. 
(everyone take your car to that jiffy lube!)
Also, lucky, Matt works right down the block on 38th there, so he was right there. 

I didn't see the guy coming until it was more than too late.  Basically, I saw his front end right as he was about to hit me. 
Enough time to realize that I was about to be hit, but that's it. 
I had no idea what kind of car it was, or anything, but witnesses said it was a Lexus. 
We put together the partials (and one very nice girl drove all the way around through the construction back to me to give me a whole plate #. 
I wish I could thank her. 
When APD (finally) showed up and we ran that # it registered to a '97 Lexus.  So, hopefully we'll catch the guy. 

Now, I'm dealing with insurance and all that crap. 
What's sad is that I got this cool little rental car that's way better than my own.  I want to keep it... 
It has the cool key chain clicky thingy, and power everything, and it's fun.
