PIRA 1M40.40 - Conservation of Energy: Ballistic Pendulum
Instructions / Notes:
- A ~2 kg block is suspended by 1 meter wires so that it will swing freely
when it is shot by a ~2 gram bullet.
- The bullet leaves the barrel with a velocity of about 1000 feet per
second.
- As the block swings it slides a pointer along a protractor.
- The gun is clamped to the table and left unloaded with a bullet. To
load, see inset.
- Turn safety off before firing.
