Instructions / Notes:

• A slinky stretched the length of the lecture bench. One end is attached to a rod clamped to the end of the bench.
  
• Jerk the spring sideways to create a pulse.
  
• Observe how a pulse reflects from a fixed or free end. The free end is approximated by tying the end of the slinky to a light string.
  
• The students can see this best if a TV camera sights down the lecture bench.
