PIRA 5F30.20 - RC Time Constant on an Oscilloscope
Instructions / Notes:
- Circuit components are mounted on a board.
- On the oscilloscope, make sure you clear the screen. If not, push the
Clear button.
- Push the knife switch down to charge circuit.
- Quickly release the knife switch to discharge when the scope trace
is about one third of the way across the screen.
- Change the setting to a different resistor. Hit the small -reset button-
- Repeat the procedure to superimpose the new curve to the previous one.
- To start over push clear.
- A TV camera is used to show the scope screen on the classroom monitors.
- This demo is easy to perform if you rehearse it before the start
of class.
