There are several ways to get help in this course:
- Attend the problem sessions and ask questions. There will be several problem sessions each week. The schedule of meetings can be obtained by clicking on the Problem Sessions link at the left. (By the way, even if you are not having difficulties with the course material, you should attend these meetings regularly, at least one per week).
- See a TA. This can be arranged by making an appointment via e-mail. The TA e-mail addresses can be obtained by clicking on the TA/Grader Info link at the left.
- See the Instructor during his office hours.
- See the Instructor outside scheduled office hours. To do this, please make an appointment first. E-mail can be sent to the Instructor at this address: phy317m@physics.utexas.edu
One piece of advice: Don't get behind! It is important to understand the material that is being presented now in order to understand the material that will be presented later. If you get behind, you will probably not catch up.Doing the homework is important. It tests your understanding, and if you are having difficulty with the homework, then you should take one of the steps listed above. Also, exam problems will resemble the homework problems. It is okay to discuss the homework with other students and to work on it with them. However, it will be most useful to you if you always generate your own answers.
