Exam Rules

You must take the exam in the section in which you are registered.

Exams will be closed book and no notes are allowed.  Students should not talk or communiciate in any way with each other during exams.

When the exam is being handed out, you will be asked not to start until told to do so, so that everyone can start at the same time.

Exams will be formatted so that there is adequate scratch space for your calculations, but if you need more scratch paper, request it from the instructor.  Do not use your own paper.

You must enter your name and UTEID on the scantron sheet.  You must also record the section unique number and provide your signature.

Mark one and only one answer for each problem.  If two or more answers are marked, even if one is correct, the answer will be graded as wrong.  To avoid marking errors, it is wise to determine all of your answers before marking the scantron sheet.  Then mark all the answers very carefully.  If you make a mistake and need a replacement scantron sheet, request one from the instructor.

You will have until the end of the class to complete the exam, but you must stop when the final bell rings.

You must return the exam when you hand in the scantron sheet.  You must print your name on the exam and also provide your signature.  You may be asked to show your ID.

If you are in the earlier of the two sections, you should not discuss the exam with students in the later section until after they have taken the exam.  Different exams will be given in the two sections, but conveying the content of the exam would be unfair to your classmates.
