Research Experience

Fall 2002 - University of Texas at Austin College of Natural Sciences Undergraduate Research
Continuing research of pulsating white dwarfs with wavelets. Results to be presented at the 201st meeting of the American Astronomical Society.
Spring/Summer 2002 - University of Texas at Austin Department of Mathematics VIGRE program
Research of maximum entropy galaxy model - solution's behavior and other methods of solving - with Dr. Karl Gebhardt. Wavelets intensive course (Dr. John Gilbert), and wavelet application on white dwarf pulsations.
Fall 2001 - University of Texas at Austin Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (AMP)
Observational Astronomy with Dr. Donald E. Winget and Dr. Hugo Schwarz: study of large sample of bipolar planetary nebulae searching for correlation between spectral energy distributions and inclinations. Underway, preliminary results presented at the Third Annual Student Research Conference of the AMP and the UT College of Natural Sciences Undergraduate Poster Session.
Summer 2001 - Southwest Research Institute
Planetary Astronomy with Dr. Randy Gladstone: merging 2-D and redistribution radiative transfer codes, analysis of Hubble Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph data of aurora flares on Jupiter. Results presented at the 33rd meeting of the American Astronomical Society's Division of Planetary Sciences.
Spring 2001 - University of Texas at Austin
Extra-galactic Astronomy with Dr. Karl Gebhardt: refining formulism of an old Maximum Entropy Galaxy Model used to determine mass of galaxies, exploring minimization techniques to increase efficiency of code. Continuing in Spring 2002.
Spring 2001 - Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory
Observational Astronomy with Dr. Hugo E. Schwarz & Dr. Romano L. M. Corradi: spatial-kinematical analysis of bipolar planetary nebulae, RR Lyrae observing project, general observing on CTIO telescopes. Presented poster at 199th meeting of the American Astronomical Society, article accepted by Astrophysical Journal for publication. Paper on RR Lyrae submitted to PASP. (Visit here for more information.)
