A word of warning: I am NOT an artist. With that said, here are some images of some sketches and paintings I have tried.

Acrylics

This is from an Informal Class, "Painting what you see and feel", I took in the Spring 2002 semester. The class was an intro painting class using acrylics and taught by Meg Renwick. This is the second project, painting a dream.

Fourier Snooze

In the dream, I turn my alarm clock's buzz into a superposition of sinusoidal waves. It isn't really a dream, I do it while I am half awake and half asleep, but once I convert the noisy sound I am able to ignore it and quickly fall asleep again.
Self Portrait

Self portrait, pretty self explanatory. This is from my second informal class. I took "Painting with Acrylics" taught by local artist Polly Jackson. I really enjoyed learning and using the old master's technique of underpainting. I am taking the class again, stay tuned for more paintings!

New image, inspired by a yellow flower in a magazine, but I completely went in my own direction when I forgot the magazine one day! Scanning it was difficult.

The size of this is about 9" x 11" and was done on sandpaper... yikes, it eats up pastel but has a nice texture.

Pencil Sketches

These are a few sketches from my books, I keep two, one for travel, and another for home use. They are identical, except the one I use at home gets more use and accordingly shows more wear.

These are from a trip to New York City in May 1998.

Hello...

This is a sketch of a bronze sculpture in some park. There was a series of these sculptures in this new park along the river. This one was on a tabletop.
Central Park

I perched myself on a outcrop of rocks in the park and looked down to see this scene.

This is a sketch I made while in Santiago, CHILE (January 2001).

Providencia

While sitting under a small tree at some monument to aviation, I observed this scene across the street. I liked how the street between these buildings curved out of sight and the interesting trees that seemed to reach, awkwardly, for the sunlight. Strangely, I clearly remember the stuff that I didn't draw, like the detail on the building's brick and motar work, or the things I imagined went on in the rooftop apartments.

Watercolor Sketches

Ha ha, I started playing with watercolors, it is very fun.

Burned Lighthouse

At Matagorda Island off the coast of Texas. Very cool place with a rich history. This lighthouse was burned along with the pre-exisiting village. Currently there is no civilization on the island and it has become a wildlife refuge. A ferry brings you to and from the island.
