Walter Tangarife Garcia

I am a doctoral candidate in the department of physics at The University of Texas at Austin. I am a member of the theory group and work under the supervision of prof. Willy Fischler. My research interests are in high energy theory. In the last years, I have been studying topics that include: gauge mediation of supersymmetry breaking, particle cosmology and some applications of the gravity/gauge correspondence.

I am originally from Medellin, Colombia, where I got a B.Sc. degree in physics at La Universidad de Antioquia in 2008.

Teaching

I enjoy teaching physics. I am the instructor of record for two sessions of Physical Science, an inquiry-based course for non-physics majors.
