Cape Town is adjacent to the coastal mountains and the sea.
The old part of Cape Town lies between a natural harbor called
Table Bay and a beach fronting the Atlantic called Sea Point.

Looking towards Cape Town, you'll see Table Mt on the upper left.
Cape Town is a beautiful mix of Dutch colonial and modern architecture.
The climate in the summer, our winter, is more Mediterreanean than tropical.
A port city, it has an international flavor with multicultural historic sites,
ethnic cuisine, shopping, and a vibrant night life similar to New Orleans, La.
The Dutch East Indies colonial influence is found
in most parts of the old section of Cape Town.

In the 17th Century, the Dutch brought slaves from Malaysia
and Indonesia to the Cape. Here we see a mosque in Cape Town.

I was unaware of the Dutch East Indies influence before visiting the Cape.
In addition to the wonderful Cape Malay cuisine, there still is a large Islamic community.
I would guess its a Citroen 2CV parked on a sidewalk.
This little Deux Chevaux would be the perfect car to
sport about town in. Check out the worlds biggest sunroof.
