Concepts Conveyed:
- Intermolecular interactions are electrostatic due to positive and negative attractions between
molecules, but the molecules themselves are also electrostatic due to charges on protons and
electrons. The strength of attraction in intermolecular interactions depends on the magnitude of
charges and the distance between them, described by Coulomb's law.
